Good Morning!  Time for your update.

Every grade level has had tests returned.  Please look for them.  Those students that failed a test may retake by this Friday  provided they come in for a tutoring session prior to the retake.  The tutoring and retake may not be done on the same day!

6th Grade:
Monday: Did some practice problems with speed, velocity, and acceleration.  Some took it home to finish.
Tuesday:  Have a lab today.  Will be using the CBL's and motion sensors for measuring motion.  This may take 2 days.  If so, the lab will not be due until Thursday.
Wednesday: Probably still lab, if not then we'll start a second lab involving the CBL's and CBR's again where the kids try to recreate motion that matches graphed motion.
Thursday: If first lab went until Wednesday, then the second lab starts today.  Otherwise, we'll have our quiz over 3SQ 11-17 and start discussing forces and how they affect motion.
Friday: Begin looking at basic force diagrams and continue discussions of forces.

7th Grade:
Monday: Discuss effects of solutes on freezing and boiling points of solutions, concentration, solubility.  Use proportions to solve problems relating to aforementioned concepts.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Solubility Lab
Thursday: remainder of  3SQ due.  Quiz.  Discuss acids and bases in solutions.
Friday: Differentiate pH and concentration.  Lab Monday.

8th Grade:
Monday: Discuss heat of fusion/vaporization.  Practice problems
Tuesday & Wednesday: Specific heat lab
Thursday: Relate heat to Weather and climate.  Begin Weather and Chapter 15.  Supplemental Reading Packet on Weather.  Weather SQ due Friday.
Friday: Quiz, Begin discussion of weather.

Thanks,
