The ABC’s of a Successful Class Learning Experience

A        Absence – it is your responsibility to get the make up work on your time  

B        Be prepared for class everyday by taking your notes and studying each night 

C        Conference period – 10:15 - 11:10 a.m.

D        Discipline – personal and academic discipline are a must

E        Email - my email address is david.slight@gpisd.org

F        Forgetting to do your home preparation or assignments is not an excuse

G        Grades – 3 types (MFE, PFE, DFE)

H        Have your book and notes out ready to go when the tardy bell rings 

I         Independent means “independent” – work must be done quietly without "help" from others

J        Just a friendly reminder! – Bring your book to class everyday.

K       Keep all your papers for each grading period

L       Labs – are considered a PFE grade (30%)

M      Make-up work is your responsibility 

N      No late work will be accepted unless there are extreme mitigating circumstances

O      “Oh, I forgot my book!”  Don’t tell me that.  Just go get it and get the tardy slip, too!

P       Paper and pencils will be required every day 

Q      Quiet – my expectation is that when I am teaching, your focus is to be on me

R       Re-Takes – any MFE or PFE may be retaken only during tutoring - maximum grade will be 70

S       Supplies – textbook, paper, pen, pencils, map pencils, notebook . . . EVERYDAY! 

T       Textbook – required in class everyday and must be covered under the penalty of a D-Hall 

U       Understanding – bring your paper, home prep, and book to class . . . understand!

V       Vring vour vook vo vlass vveryday

W      Workbook – sometimes given as a home preparation assignment

X       X-tra credit work . . . there is no such thing in this class!

Y       Yes, you need your book today!
