READING CIRCLE            

One of my passions in life is READING! I want to encourage all of my students to discover the wonderful worlds books can take them to. I truly believe reading helps the imagination and of course build vocabulary.

As part of this effort, we have a READING CIRCLE that all students participate in. I encourage them to read from different genres of literature such as science fiction, historical fiction, mystery, fairy tales, suspense, etc.

Reading circle is a 6 weeks grade. They are given a pie chart to fill out and it has 6 pieces of the pie of items they need to read (books, magazine/internet/newspaper article, comic books, poetry).

Grading Chart:

6 materials= 100

5 materials= 90

4 materials= 80

3 materials= 70

2 materials= 60

1 material= 50

0=0

READING= COOL!
