RAINFOREST CONFERENCE

The students in Mrs. Martin's classes were involved in a simulation about the Amazon rainforest of South America. They attended a mock conference and debated the importance of the resources of the rainforest. Students created a banner representing their interest groups and had a slogan, a picture and the group's name on it. They chose a banker to keep up with the acres of land they received, and a reporter recorded the decisions of the team. There was an initial speaker at the beginning of the conference that introduced the team and its purpose.

Mrs. Martin presented the team with proposals to debate and they had to decide whether they agreed or disagreed with the proposal and why. They related their decisions to the interest of their group.

Students were very involved with the conference, as you can see.
