Technology Applications

At Jackson we currently use Dell computers with Microsoft Office 2000 installed.  So the main applications we use are:  Access, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Word.  We also use a program called TimeLiner to create time lines in history and other subjects, and one called  Inspiration, which is an organizing, concept-mapping  program.  Imagination Express is a program that students can use to create storybooks about ancient Egypt or the Medieval times with words, pictures, animation and sound.  Also, students use the Intranet sources for research such as on-line encyclopedias, databases and web quests.

Some of the projects we have done so far this year include:  a mythology database of the first 13 colonies of the new United States, a chart of latitude and longitude on the earth, biographies of students with their pictures as a watermark, and  a spreadsheet chart depicting the M&M colors in a package of candy.
