Guidelines and Standards for Spanish Students

Supplies:

You are responsible for bringing these items to class each day:  pen (black or blue), highlighter and your binder or folder to keep your assignments or notes in.

You will be issued a workbook so it will be your responsibility to keep up with it since many homework assingments will come from it.  You may keep it in class except on homework days.

Class Procedures:

We will do many activities each day which include speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish.  You are responsible for participating in every activity.  You are monitored during paired activities, so be careful of what you say.

If you are absent for whatever reason, you will need to check on the “Wall of Information” for any assingments that you may need to make up.  All assingments must be completed within the given time frame.  Make up work must be completed on time.  (One day for one absence.)

Your average will be compiled from a minimum of daily work assignments and tests/ projects.  The projects usually involve standing in front of the class and presenting it in Spanish.

Lab Prodedures:

You will be paired up with a partner with whom you are to work on paired activities.  You are not to blow into the microphone, say anything that may affend your partner, chew gum while working with the lab or pull on the cords since this may cause the trays to swing back and forth and hit someone.  Please remember on how to put the headsets up in the manner I instruct you to do so.

Class Rules:

            -Remain in your seat

            -Remain quiet during presentations

-Raise your hand if you have a question

-Use the lab correctly and follow lab procedures

-Be respectful to others in and out of class

Please be assured that my objective is to work with you to ensure the success of each student.  Following these guidelines will enable each student and the class as a whole to be productive, positive, and praiseworthy.
