| The domain
name is a web address. Just as your address
tells someone where to find your house, a web
address directs you to a website. Companies
and groups will sometimes buy the rights to
a domain name that’s the same name as
their company.
Just because you know the subject you
want to look for doesn’t mean it has a
domain name. You shouldn’t search for
Dr. Martin Luther King under http://www.martinlutherking.com;
you should use a search engine. There are many
search
engines listed on the Grand Prairie and
Jackson sites.
Some domain names
end in:
.com
(for commercial) .mil
(military) .edu
(educational)
.gov (government)
.org
(organization) .net
(network)
What can you tell about these addresses?
